Do I have to modifcy css file of marvin directory ? what changes should I make to change the width of the body ?

Thanks

For colors etc, you make the changes in:
/themes/chameleon/marvin/style.css

The Marvin theme also reuses styles in this file:
/themes/chameleon/common.css

If an attribute is defined in both, marvin/style overrides common.css.

I'm not sure precisely what you mean by changing the width of the body (technically, all visible content is in the body). You might try changing/setting margin or padding for "body", "#content" or "#main" within common.css.
