I just switched to using TinyMCE t edit page content but i noticed a couple things that are screwing up teasers.

- when i edit exisiting node that had a

; the break is o longer visible unless i go to DB and i can see that it is now at the top of the page; and the teaser has been redefined as simply "

"
- so as a result - no teaser

- when i edit a new node it simply adds

into the visible text and teaser if full body

Is there a way using Tiny to force teaser breaks?

I'm more of a FCKEditor user, but I believe TinyMCE will allow you to edit the "source". In other words, after you've entered your content within the GUI press the HTML button within TinyMCE which should give you the source code. Insert <!--break--> where appropriate! Close the HTML window.

You likely won't see the <!--break--> from the TinyMCE GUI window since the code is meant to be a comment and not seen within a GUI. Also for Drupal's Input format you'll likely want to use "Full HTML" and not "Limited HTML".

In the TinyMCE Drupal module archive you will find a sub-folder caled 'plugins'. In there is a TinyMCE plugin called 'drupalbreak'.

Copy that to the TinyMCE JavaScript plugins folder (as per the documentation).

You'll then need to register the plugin for Drupal using the plugin_reg.php file (see documentation)

Now enable the drupal break button in the Drupal TinyMCE settings.

You've probably got a custom filter configured too "rich text" or some sort (as per the documentation, again). You'll need to add the tag

to the allowed tags too, otherwise on submission it will get filtered out (as you mention in your post).

When hitting the button you'll get a nice "-----break-----" image in the WYSIWYG editor.

If you're using the very latest TinyMCE (2.0.3) then you will need to grab my new updated version of drupalbreak to work with the new TinyMCE plugin architecture.

figured it was something like that.

I do have latest TinyMCE... but if it didn't come with "new updated version of drupalbreak" - then where would i get it

maybe been working too hard.. lol...

this is what i did:

- copied drupalbreak folder to jscripts folder
- added following to plugin_reg.php

$plugins['drupalbreak'] = array();
$plugins['drupalbreak']['theme_advanced_buttons3'] = array('drupalbreak');
 // note, you can choose which row of buttons to use by changing
 // the 3 to either 1 or 2
$plugins['drupalbreak']['plugin_property'] = array('property_value');

- had no idea what to set icon to but went searching through drupalbreak folder and saw what looked right; but not sure if it needs to be moved to other folder or path added in code above???

- add tinymce profile
- edit profile i can see "drupalbreak - drupalbreak"
- so i think it is there; but it can't find icon

- when i go to edit a page i get Tiny.. but figure i should likely get something in row 3 for adding break... and i don't - but then maybe just cuz it can't find icon???

Also, i added "RichText" as an input format.. but no idea why ...

set that as the default format for roles which
use TinyMCE exclusively

I can't find anywhere where i can set default format for roles - would be cool though not to always have to select something other than "filtered html"

I just installed the 5.x Drupal release and latest tinymce and tinymce module. I too would like the break comment to be inserted.

There is no "plugin_reg.php" with the latest module. Is there an updated version of the drupalbreak fix?

Oh sure, do it the easy way! :-) Actually it's good information as I've heard that the latest TinyMCE is Mac Safari compatible. I have some people that weren't too happy to not have a WYSIWYG option on their Macs.
