Checkbox to show/not show navigation menu items only goes one way

Description
I clicked on " Navigation menu items
Whether to show a menu item in the navigation block for each node type?" to see what it does. Now I can't get rid of those without editing my Navigation Menu directly (unclicking the option in Favorite Nodes doesn't do a thing.)
