Hello,
When I try to update a bio of an any author and when I submit it, it doesn't work. There isn't any message of error. It just doesn't update the bio.
If you need more informations, I'm here so don't hesitate.
Sorry for my terrible english. I don't speak it very well.

I don't have any trouble updating bios. Without an error message, I am not sure what to do. I assume you ran update.php when you updated the module. You can try disabling and re-enabling the module (do not un-install).
