Description

Came here following the link from mysite module and see If I can help. I can contribute by testing features or patches. But can't now, since it work with only drupal.org infrastructure.

The sooner you seperate dependancy on drupal.org, the better since more folks can download test and contrubute back. Those who want to help are currently handicapped (or atleast seems that way). The feature request for this is postponed. So how exactly others can help you?

I am not vining or being saracastic. Please communicate what kind of help is needed and how can people help. I understand it may not be in a shape to make it open yet. But be aware that may be a handicap to attract more support.

Hi all,

I would love to contribute to the Dashboard module (both as a standalone one, and for d.o redesign). I want to #503082: Stop duplicating effort and would be glad if Homebox could become insupported and migrate all its users to the Dashboard module.

I have started to look at dashboard code, but I'm a bit confused. agentrickard put some nice code changes here #432700: Admin pages in a zip file. It's hard for me to guess where to start and what you have in mind in terms of features and/or design.

I will be digging into the code to understand what has been done so far and see where I can help.

I think the answer is that we need to lock ourselves in a room in Paris, commit #432700, and then get moving on the full CTools integration.

So how can we lock you guys in Paris? Unfortunately I won't be in Paris. So can someone take ownership to forecefully lock agentrickard and drumm in a room? :)

Well, short of that, reviews of #432700: Admin pages are good. If people like that direction, I can commit that and we can try to get some momentum going.

I can try to help at least put together an action plan so we can have concrete tasks that people can grab. That's killing this project right now is people who want to help but cannot because they do not understand what needs to be done.

Right. What we need is some architecture and a plan.

This is great, with some plans and some design guidelines we will be able to help!

Unfortunatly I won't be in Paris for DrupalCon, I'm leaving France for holidays in a week, but I'll be back plenty of energy! And with Dashboard module in mind.

I'll open a new issue to let you how I designed Homebox module. Why I made some (maybe odd) choices, what I think is good, what I do know is not. Releasing such a module needs a good design, in terms of usability (front-end, back-end), customization (for the end user) and performance, which is a big concern for d.o.

I'm caching up on this project and will write a blog post with a summary. One of the highest priority is something really weird happens when dragging widgets. Pages all work.
