The s5 slideshow link is only visible on nodes of type book page. Drupal 6 has a settings page that allows you to specify which content types are allowed to be inserted into a book outline. The s5 link should be available for all content types selected here.

I don't plan to work on this. If someone provided a patch I would consider applying it.
