Would not be more sensible to replace 'Display post information on' settings
from
/admin/build/themes/settings/global
to
node type display settings i.e
admin/content/node-type/page/display
where the all other elements (default or customized - 'post information' as being a default field)
so can be shown, hide or reordered just like the other elements by content type basis.
i think it may give more configurability and mobility to that piece of information
- i submit this issue for the -field system- i hope i got it right if not please let me know the appropriate location -thanks

yched commentedI think this makes sense, but then it's primarily an issue for node module.
More generally, the Field UI should progressively become the central hub for many of those 'per node type' properties.
The Field UI issue is then: allow 'configure' links for pseudo-fields

alanburke commentedThis would appear to have been done already,
though I can't find the issue.
