After applying patch to allow concurrent use with Feedapi simplepie parser (Simplepie Core), I receive this message during the status run:
Activity Stream is using the SimplePie Core module with SimplePie version SIMPLEPIE_VERSION
(this is generated from lines 43-44 of the activitystream_feed module). See also http://drupal.org/node/264080.

What patch is that? 2.x doesn't need any sort of a patch to work with simplepie core.

Oops... my bad! The patch was on the previous version. However, at some point this morning, the above captioned error disappeared and the Array | Array problem started up (see http://drupal.org/node/264080). I am marking as a duplicate, then.
