At current state player's user interface hides a slice from the bottom of video, at least when using getid3. Autohiding ui would be one way to get around that problem.
At my site I just added that into the default settings in flashy.wrapper.inc - I suppose such would be useful for others too?

I wouldn't want the controls hidden by default, but adjusting the size to account for the controls makes sense to me. Can you roll a patch to do so?

Unfortunately I'm too busy right now to even think more than the quick solution I did as it works very neatly for the site I'm working on.
I'm willing to work on this later as this seems like a pretty nifty module I'd like to use in other projects too.
