Description

The app I'm working on has some complex billing requirements. Being that UC is so powerful and extensive, and not to mention, already written, I am trying to utilize it instead of writing my own payment handler, etc. The app will have to bill each user a variable amount each month based on criteria handled by a custom module (already completed).

From what I've read and have been told, Authorize.net's ARB and/or CIM service is the way to go to handle monthly payments and stored credit card information. I see that UC comes with some support for both, but I'm not sure how to really utilize it (especially the recurring stuff). I know a uc_recurring module exists but after talking to the maintainer, and only getting more confused, it seems like it has to be linked to each of the authorize services, somehow...

I don't need a shopping cart, or even products per se..but like I said I want to use UC because the authorize APIs are already written, as well as all the user interface components, and the reporting, invoicing, etc...

So I am asking for some sort of advice or guidance as to what you think the best way to achieve this is. Can my custom module just tie into UC and initiate a payment every month at the price it calculates? Is the ARB and/or CIM sufficient? Do I need both? Does the UC core have any recurring functionality built in to it (looks that way after glancing over the code)?

I'll stop flooding this with questions and just allow any one to chime in..

Thanks

Also, is ARB even needed? Can't we just used the stored CIM info and initiate the payments ourselves automatically?
