simplenews - submit button

Hi,
I am using Simplenews module. The .module file has all the required functions, I would like to know if there is a way I can find out which functions are being executed on submit.
this will enable me to write additional code to be executed on clicking the submit button.
help is appreciated.

Ideally additional functionality would be added in your own custom module. If you edit the SimpleNews module then you make it difficult to upgrade it.
If you can let us know what functionality you want to add, we could perhaps suggest which Drupal API hooks would allow you to do that: http://api.drupal.org/api/group/hooks/5
