Resizing Menu's (nice menu's) and moving a region

Hello there world,

I have three requests please help in developing a great idea into a great site..

I have nice menu's in my header region which shows all my taxonomy terms, now the problem arises when I add a home menu tab and, (how do explain) the menu's drop down a level, I would like to squeeze them on one level.
Number two I have my header area where there is an image I would like to have my menu's in that area if you can go to www.4twenty5.com a blue bar below the logo will be visible this is where I would like to have the menu's.

Also if someone could help me out im struggling with an image gallery what module would do the for a simple gallery that is administrator maintained and looks good on a page the gallery should be able to link its images to a story, and how do I get views to show a teaser image and snippet of a story from across the site(more like they would have on news sites my understanding of views is improving daily but some help is still needed and will be appreciated, thanks from drupal beginner.
