Access permissions for forum(Ideal Financial Solutions)

Is there a way to grant access to certain areas of a forum for certain group of people and not to others. For example if I want a VIP forum, how would I go about it?

Ideal Financial Solutions!

Try instead the module "Taxonomy Access Control" and don't forget to apply the included patch to the Taxonomy module. "Taxonomy Access Control" will allow you to render a complete category term with all content invisible to the one or other role.

"Node Privacy Byrole" is not

"Node Privacy Byrole" is not what you need: it only allows to assign viewing rights to single nodes and you probably don't want to do or control this nody by node.
