Description

Hi,

I've just stumbled across this great module. I have a small comment, which I'm posting as a bug report because I think it's a matter of life and death for the sites who intend to use it , to get this feature right.

I've just tested the demo here http://www.tmtdigital.com/node/619 and I think that the reason why YouTube's player was so successful and many other players (like iPlayer) were not, was because when you drag the knob on the timeline you do NOT want the player to start buffering again. If that part of the video has already loaded what a person expects to see is that he/she will drag it back and it will start playing from that spot instantly, instead of buffering again!

This is also why I advised many people to host their videon on YouTube rather than install new players on their own sites.

Another aspect to get right is to make the converted flash video as light as possible. Speed is the name of the game.

Once again, I've stumbled upon this module just now. If I'm wrong, please ignore this. But if I'm not wrong, then this is a CRUCIAL feature to get right.

But the idea for this project is really intriguing! I hope this will develop into a great media solution that Drupal deserves.

Don't see that on a test site, but only tried with short videos under 2mb size.
Those tested videos could be replayed after the first load.

Also tried to see the demo on http://www.tmtdigital.com/node/619 but somehow it didn't play.

what if you are in the middle of the video and the video is still loading??? if you drag back you MUST be able to see the footage instantly!!! Instead, what we get is: you drag is back and nothing happens; and then you click somewhere earlier in the timeline and the video starts to buffer again. This is not good!!!

Yeah, I will definitely look into this and fix in as soon as I can. I agree that this is an issue and needs to be fixed. But rest assured that I am on it.

Thanks,

Travis.

This should be fixed with the version 1.3.4 player found at http://www.tmtdigital.com/project/dash_player.

Thanks everyone.

Travis.
