How can I add the number of comments of the node listed in the /blog directory/page?

I'm guessing this can be done with some sort of view. I'm new to any sort of development/coding, even for minor things like this. I would like to see the number of comments for each blog node under the intro text. Here is the page that I'm referring to: http://www.course-notes.org/blog
