A Google search for "merlinofchaos" returns #465938 and #465942 prominently (second result for #465938). I think this is unfair, and I suggest we unpublish those two posts.

The only reason I agreed to this is that the original poster was embarassed by his actions and went to great lengths to try and remove his name from the posts.

If neither the poster nor the target really want to be associated with the post, I see no reason to leave it up. I would not have agreed to if I thought the poster would object.
