Tooltips in gmap macro

This question is about the gmap module.
Does anyone know how to add tooltips to a Google map generated by gmap macro? I have read GMAP-MACRO-DICTIONARY, which explains the attributes available in GMap macros, but have not found any info about adding tooltips. Is this feature still missing? If that is the case, does anybody have some work-around to achieve that?
