Stuck with Galleria

Non programmer newbie to Drupal here so be gentle.
Trying to get Galleria to work and I’m having some difficulty even though I think I have followed the directions correctly.

1. Created new content type and called it “galleria” for simplicity and so I can learn what is going on.
2. Edited “galleria” type to ENABLE Galleria from attachment
3. ENABLED Attach Images
4. Saved the content type.

Then I try to show images and this is where I get lost and stuck.
1. Create Content>Galleria (remember I keep naming thing so I can remember what I’m learning)
2. Give the new Galleria a title “Graduation Photos” just as a test
3. Make a menu link and place it high so I can see it easily
4. I think my problem is in the ATTACH IMAGES option. I browse for an image in the IMAGE UPLOAD area. (The image is currently on my home computer) I give the image to upload a normal title. I can only attach/upload a single file. If I try to attach another image, the first image is replaced AND I have a second “Graduation Photos” menu link on the left
5. Under Publishing Options I make sure PROMOTE TO FRONT PAGE is not checked.
6. I hit SAVE and get this

Galleria Graduation Photos has been created.
TimMarkey.jpg's thumbnail derivative image was missing. The derivatives will be rebuilt to regenerate it.
The derivative images for TimMarkey.jpg have been regenerated.
Invalid Galleria: there are no attachments. See README.txt for help."

Just below this error, there is a thumbnail of the image I just uploaded and if I click it, I am redirected to a full sized image all by itself.

Since I am not a programmer and very green to Drupal, I am stuck. Love the look and potential of the mod, if anyone can help me fix it (or learn what I’m doing wrong) I would appreciate it.
