Problems when content overflows, e.g. with wide Views table

Issue Summary

If a table exists with many columns, each with some long strings, then the table will overflow the normal content area and be partially obscured by the right sidebar (which doesn't move). This looks pretty ugly. I'd much prefer the sidebar to be pushed to the right of the table. Is there an easy way to do this?
