Language icons doesn't work on first page

letharion - July 5, 2009 - 14:04

I have the i18n module, and the language icons, and everything works well, except on the first page, where the language icons all point to the default language, if I'm currently on the default language.
If I use another language, the links work, but as soon as I get back to the front page (node/1) and the default language (english), I'm stuck. I can switch to another page and switch language, but not the first.

What do I do?

I use i18n with 2 URL, 1 URL for french site and the 2nd URL for netherland site.
I had the same problem as you : can not give 2 different names for the first page

The problem is that you can not give 2 or 3 different names for the first page in the "information" configuration.

So I use the SAME name for the first page. :
I use "home" as the first page name, both in French and Netherlands.

So first page is :

When I go on the URL, it works : I see the first page in french when coming from http://dentistesdumonde.be,
and the netherlands page from the netherlands URL.

When I click on to change the language, it works too.

That's strange, cause when I click English, it does not work.
In fact, I can't seem to get any site at all in English?
The other two seem to work perfectly. What's your default language? Language negotiation setting?

Solved!
