Node Expire / Auto Expire don't expire dated forum posts

Hi Everyone,

I'm running drupal 5.x and I need to put a limit on how long forum posts will show up. I've been trying every module I can find that should do this including Node Expire and Auto Expire... but after installing each of these and configuring them neither seems to be working.

I've run cron and I've checked the settings over and over and everything looks like it should work... but the old ads are still there. I've even created new ads and adjusted the Authored date / time to simulate when an ad should cross the expiration threshold and they're still there...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
