Everything was going smoothly until I created a new view which worked perfectly, however after I finished this view I noticed I could not get a new menu item (linking to the view) to show on the front page. I only have one page template and since the menu item shows in all other page views I am sure it is not a template problem.

I have been pulling my hair out over this for hours now, nothing I do seems to make a difference. I've cleared, disabled, re-enabled caches but nothing I do to the menus makes a jot of difference on the front page. I can go in and disable all the menus and they still appear on the front page, all other pages they disappear as expected.

If any one has any ideas I'd love to hear them, I am at a dead end.

node access module then clear your cache from admin/settings/performance

Turns our it was cache after all, I am running eAccelerator but I was clearing it through Authcache however that does not seem to completely clear the cache as when I cleared it from the eAccelerator control panel everything worked as it should. I guess Authcache only clears disk or memory cache, not both.
