There seems to be a difference between when I manually add a menu item that points to a path versus when I create the path via the Views system. I create a Page View and give it a path /coaches. If I manually add the menu item the item in the menu says 'delete' next to it. If I add it via the Page View interface, it says 'reset'. What are the behind the scenes differences and how can I get the Forums and Blogs to show a menu item?
The reason I raise the question is because manually adding the menu causes Menu Block to break, using the Views menu item works flawlessly. I'm trying to get active Horizontal Menus which reflect the menu hierarchy. I'm currently using the Menu Block module with 2 menu blocks. One for the 1st level of the Primary Menu, one for the 2nd level of the Primary Menu. If you click on the 1st level menu, it shows the 2nd level menu for that item. For most of the links on the 2nd level menu, the menu remains after you click on a 2nd level link (View Pages for instance). However, for Forums and Blogs the 2nd Level Block menu disappears.
For instance I have: Community > Blogs, Community > Forum, and Community > Coaches
Community > Coaches is a Page View of a content type for personnel and when I add the menu item via the Views interface, the 2nd level menu works great and remains on the page after the user has clicked the Coaches link.
Community > Blogs and Community > Forum do not work. When the user clicks on either of those 2nd level links, the 2nd level menu disappears.
