Workflow of a Content Type That is Not Published to the Front Page

Hi

My site's front page is taken up by Drigg: it has the most popular stories on the front page. Most of these are links that are shared by users. I also allow users to write their own stories using the content type "story." These stories can't be automatically published to the front page because that would ruin the point of the site, but I would like to be able to offer a quick option immediately after each person clicks the "save" button on their story, allowing them to share the story with the Drigg part of the site. How could I do this.

Also: how would I have each "story" content type automatically published at one url, for example mysite.com/originalstories?
