There are a lot of themes with many 0s at the beginning of their names to get "AAA Taxi" style listings. Please can we have a random displaying of themes or perhaps some sort of list ordered on how many open bugs there are..

Actually, any such algorithm (e.g. number of open bugs) would probably cause further foul play such as closing of bugs even if they are a problem. And likewise a voting system would probably result in people setting up scripts or manually voting up their projects. On the other hand random ordering is not likely to be helpful as people remember which pages themes they found are on.

Some solution clearly is needed however; there are just too many themes for any newcomer to reasonably search through them all. Any suggestions?

Title: Theme ordering has caused people to use silly names » Change the ordering used in the themes list
Project: Drupal.org infrastructure » Drupal.org site moderators
Component: Drupal.org theme » Textual improvements
Category: feature » task

I am moving the report to the correct issue queue; component Drupal.org theme is for problems related with the theme currently used in Drupal.org.
