Hello,

the javascript should check for empty messages. If I submit an empty message, the spinning image keeps on spinning... Error appears only on the next page the user navigates to.

However, marking as duplicate of #305744: Return validation error (use AJAX framework). Please search for existing issues before submitting a new one.
