I have titles with a lot of periods i.e. "AAKER, David A. Investigación de mercados. 3a. ed. México, D. F. : McGraw-Hill, 1989. 715 p."
Search failed every time I tried to search with a text string containing a period.
To reproduce simply save a node with the above title a try to search for the title.

aasarava commentedI just tested this on a clean install of Drupal 5.19 and Scanner 5.x-2.1 and found it to work just fine. In the settings for Scanner, do you have the "title" field of your content type selected as a searchable field?

Yes, title is the only searchable field. I can search for "AAKER, David A" and get hits without any problems, but if I search for something with a period like "AAKER, David A. Investigación" it returns no results.

aasarava commentedHmmm, I'm still getting hits when I search for "AAKER, David A. Investigación". Here are the exact steps I took to test this:
1. Install Drupal 5.19
2. Install and enable Search and Replace Scanner module version 5.x-2.1
3. Create a new Page node with the title "AAKER, David A. Investigación de mercados. 3a. ed. México, D. F. : McGraw-Hill, 1989. 715 p.".
4. Go to Search and Replace Scanner settings at /admin/content/scanner/settings and select the "page: title" field option. (
5. Go to Search and Replace Scanner search page and search for "AAKER, David A. Investigación".
This returns one result for the Page node that I had created.
If you're still having the problem, can you please post the version of Drupal you're using, the version of the Scanner module, the exact settings you're using for the module, and any other steps you're taking to recreate the problem?
Thanks, -A
