Tried to switch to some of the marker managers because of a large map with over 1000 markers. First I tried Google's GMarkerManger but this wasn't successfull. The mape came up without any markers and with many log entries like that:

Location files/js/marker_friday.png
Referrer files/js/gmap_markers.js?n
Message files/js/marker_friday.png

There are no png files in that directory. The directory rights are proper set.

Please check to see if this is still a problem in the new release. If it is, reply with a new summary and set the status back to active.
