indexing taxonomy terms or 'why cant I search for terms in my glossary?'

Hi there. I'm sorry if this has been covered before, I was actually quite surprised I couldn't find anything about this through extensive searching. Is there a way for drupal's search module to index taxonomy terms? I'm running the Glossary module and it seems bogus that a user couldn't type in a glossary term in the search bar and have a matching entry in my glossary show up in the results. I know I can search and filter by taxonomy, but not sure how I can search the terms themselves. Is there a magic module I've missed?

Afaik, terms should be indexed automatically-- are you sure cron is running and completing successfully? Do you have any access control modules installed (search won't return results to which users don't have access).

Is there a way to STOP Drupal

Is there a way to STOP Drupal from indexing taxonomy terms? They are showing in my search results snippet and some of the taxonomy terms I use are for administration purposes only.
