If you have invited email addresses to join a group in the past, and they have never been activated (the accounts created for the users have never been activated), you will continue to receive expiration emails whenever inviting them to join the group again.
Since it is unlikely people will respond to invitation messages right away, either GJG should not auto-create accounts for them or those accounts should be deactivated and deleted after 30 days..
I am fine with GJG sending an email to the admin or alerting the admin when he logs in to remove expired unactivated accounts..
If we can't get people to join groups from the outside, we cannot evangelize this platform..

sdemps3 commentedMaybe there is really not a bug..
I received another email telling me that
Invitation to mbaltazar@gmail.com of type group is accepted.
But I don't see my friend as a member or joining up yet..
I'll continue to monitor this issue..

sdemps3 commentedThis may have to due with us not enabling a cron job on the Beta GJG Ironweed site for quite a while.. It seems that there are a lot of reminders coming from the system all of a sudden for invitations that are very old..
It could be a coincidence that these messages were sent to me at the same time I was re-inviting my friends to join the group..

webchickYes this one is a bit nasty.. basically, if an invitation ever expires with a user, that user can never be invited again as any future invitations always come back expired. Am looking into this...

leoklein commentedIs it a good idea to auto-create accounts in the first place? I can imagine a whole lot of invites going unanswered and such a proceedure is likely to generate a lot of accounts.
