It seems that this install.txt file has been written by a non native English speaker and causes some possible misunderstandings. A native speaker (therefore, not me) who knows this module should review it to avoid those. For example:
Your phpBB forum should be installed in subdirectory of Drupal installation directory
in order to run inside Drupal page.
For example, it is /phpBB3. But you may use your own name, but not /phpbbforum.If it is in a subdirectory, it should not start with a '/' as this is, by definition, not a subdirectory.
Also, for user-convenience, this file should listed/published from the module page as documentation. I first didn't spot it because there is usually no need for such a file. Or is my suggestion going against some Drupal convention?

jase951 commentedI agree that this should be made clearer. However, subdirectory (though somewhat confusing) does actually refer to a folder below the top directory folder.
Also, I agree that this should be documented in a better way.
Thanks.
