Greetings all,
We're a small education technology nonprofit located in Boston, MA -- and have built our site on the Drupal engine. One system/set of features important to our nonprofit model is to allow educators and students the ability to submit ideas for educational technologies that would benefit not only their classroom, but all classrooms. Our site is online at http://www.plml.org.
We're hoping to implement something like Dell's IdeaStorm, but would really like some help making it happen. I've played with Drupal a bit, and have a basic understanding for how it works -- and so depending on the complexity of the module(s) integration, I could take it on (with support), or am seeking someone interested to take it on as a volunteer project.
Ideally, teachers/students would register, submit an idea that relates to a specific category (e.g., math), and the idea could be voted up/down and commented upon (by all, including anonymous, users). The commenting should have reCaptcha, so it's not permeated by Bots, and some kind of moderation (I've set up a mod system for our blog, already).
We've also installed CiviCRM, and so some integration between those who register on the site and post, and CiviCRM would be ideal.
Anyone willing to lend a hand / help out in a small way? Please contact me here, or through the contact form on http://www.plml.org -- thanks so much!

Drigg...
Hey Dave,
What you are describing hear sounds like it can be accomplished with the Drigg module suite. Ironically enough, we had a member of our local Drupal user group do a presentation about a project he worked on that sounds very similiar to what you are wanting to do. In fact, he mentioned they used the Dell site for inspiration.
If you want email me at dave dot terry at mediacurrent dot com and I will send you a copy of the presentation.
Thanks,
Dave

ping... still seeking some limited pro-bono support
Hey all,
Thanks to some kind assistance, I have gotten Drigg installed. But, to be honest, I have no idea how to integrate it - especially because it seems that we need to integrate it with our existing theme in order to make it work.
Is there some kind soul out there who would be willing to help, pro-bono, to get this online, so that teachers could start submitting ideas by September? I wish I could implement it alone, but time is super-short!
Our website is at http://www.plml.org, and the Drigg modules would occupy a sub-navigation item, as well as appear (in short form) on the homepage with a mashup from the blog.
Thanks in advance, and hoping to hear from you!
