I am seeking a professional web designer with Drupal theme development experience for a Drupal-driven web site in the medical claims industry. The site has been in development for 8 months and is readying to go live in April.

Qualified candidates are required to provide published examples of their Drupal themes. Non-Drupal examples are a plus (for demonstrated proof of your artistry.)

Price and terms negotiable.

If interested, please email me directly via my profile.

Thanks,
John Hanley (aka. Bacteria Man)

Hi,

There are thousands professional designers looking for your projects at:

www.vnfreelance.com

You can go there to post your project for free to get good designers
with low budget and good quotes($10-$300).

Unfortunately my experience with freelance sites isn't very positive.

The people looking for technical or creative resources are usually in crisis mode and the lowest bidder gets the gig ("lucky" him or her.)

Perhaps your's is different, but usually such sites are not conducive to quality projects.

Taking the lowest bid isn't always the best.

How you handle it determines what the outcome will be. It's the same as any other business transaction. If you get references, portfolios, and a clear statement of work things can go well.

Hiring while your hair is on fire is a bad idea. Staying prepared, being able to restore from backup and return to a previous working state is something everyone should be ready to do. This prevents hair loss due to fire.

I've had many positive experiences using freelance contractors. The funny thing is, the ones who barely spoke English were usually the most technically competent. My worst experience was with a guy from New York, he never finished (and never got paid).

We do get contacted by clients who go down that route. They initially - either in hurry or trying to save money get projects done by other freelancers by posting on RentaCoder or GetaFreelancer. They generally think they got a good deal but these bidders do not have continuity or affinity. They are generally individuals who just want to get the quick job done and get onto the next thing.

Best thing is to build a relationship with a company/ individual who has some solid Drupal expertise and is commited to Drupal Development.

You definitely want to get it done right - the first time. It always helps when someone spends time to go through detailed requirements, asks you questions, maybe upsells you but also tells you good and bad, a detailed breakdown of effort and pricing and puts everything in a Statement of Work/Work Order and constanly works with you to get you to the end result.

Things done in hurry generally do not pay off.
