Here is a patch that adds support for the $display_id argument, as seen in Better Views2 Support.

I used this patch to give the $display_id feature to a site running on the services DRUPAL-6--1 branch.

I'm not sure if it is possible for this to be applied to the DRUPAL-6--1 branch, but at the very least it will be a help to all of us stuck with projects running on the DRUPAL-6--1 branch that can't safely upgrade to the DRUPAL-6--2 branch, yet.

The entire patch from http://drupal.org/node/329048 should work on 6-x-1-dev or with a really small reroll.

I'm reopening this, as the patch over at #329048: Better Views2 Support has not added Views display ID support.

This was in an earlier version of Services: http://drupalcode.org/viewvc/drupal/contributions/modules/services/servi... -- any reason it was removed? Can it be restored?
