Hi All

We are proud to announce the launch of a new freelancer site for people working with Drupal.

People who own Drupal-based websites can now easily find experts to help them on their site.
Drupal programmers and designers can build a reputation and turn that into a steady stream of work.

Please feel free to visit www.Drupalancers.com

The site will be commission free until the end of March.

Please feel free to send any comments and questions to support@drupalancers.com

So presumably you're not selling your own services on the site.

Still, good luck to you. Anything that helps Drupal seekers and Drupal gurus connect is a good thing.

Hi Robert

Thanks for your reply.

No - full disclosure... Our company is NorthlakeDesign.com

We have already taken the appropriate username (northlakedesign) on the site and so you will never see us bid on projects or sell our services.

Nice design and appears well thought out, although like everyone here I wish you had used drupal for the site.

Wish you the best.

Shouldn't you at least be using Drupal if you want to try selling Drupal related services?

you are required to pay drupalancers a commission on each project you successfully fill. The commission is 8% of your project

Ouch.

I think the flaw in this idea is that it requires the customer to know Drupal is the solution to there problems. And from what I hear most of these elance type of sites end up pretty cut-throat...

Something like this integrated with drupal.org might be a good thing, but as a third-party site I doubt it will fly. Good luck.

If you want ppl to have business, please educate them a little about reaiity. If ppl are posting http://www.drupalancers.com/projects/1141431343.html budgets like this, they will end up short. $150 per week for a coder / sysadmin??

Adrian and Chx - thanks for your comments. I'll answer them in turn...

1) Adrian. These are the future commissions. The site is currently commission free and will be until the end of March. Afterwards, 25% of profits will be returned to the Drupal project and another 25% donated to a charity selected by users of Drupalancers.

2) Chx. Its not really up to us to tell bidders what to offer in terms of salary, but you are right - it may be an idea to put a "suggested hourly rate range" in the FAQ.

Thank you both for your ideas.

The first issue I see is that job postings don't seem to show a time anywhere. How would one even know how long or "how dead" a posting is? This seems to only be an issue on the Job Listings.

Hi,
As long as you are fair, honest and open with all parties involved then I believe you will enjoy great success, good luck for the future.
Bob.

FWIW I just noticed the site was abandoned and is now a domain farm, with the domain itself being put for auction, in spite of the trademark issues with it.
