Description

The latest version of Biblio provides great flexibility with fields/records. It allows users to create new "Publication Type(s)" and select fields to be included in the type and its online (create content/node) form. Using this functionality I create an "Edited Book" publication type - a very useful "publication type" for many Endnote users. HOWEVER, when I try to import an Endnote XML dataset with "Edited Book" records into Biblio, these appear as "miscellaneous" publication type(s) and loose their "Edited Book" designation.

Can "Edited Book" be included as a default "Publication Type"... or is there a way to control/assign fields for created "Publication Types" 'when importing Endnote datasets? Thanks, Mike

Just an update to this request... I'm almost finished a user interface that will allow mapping of publication types for all the import file formats.

Thanks Ron,
That sounds great! Will happily help with beta testing...!!
Any idea when you might have it ready?
Cheers, Mike

I'm just polishing it around the edges, and I expanded the scope to include all the file formats, so I'm thinking in a day or two it should be in the -dev release. I'll post back here when that happens.

OK, this feature is in the -dev version and I think it's working properly, so give it a try and let me know...

You will find it at "admin/settings/biblio/fields/typemap", select the file format you wish to modify, then map a format specific publication type to a biblio publication type. You can also add format specific types, but that wouldn't be recommended for EndNote XML files (unless you are writing your own with custom types).

Thanks! Sounds great!! I'm away for a few weeks, but will give it a go when I get back. Cheers, Mike
