change the content type on a post

aimfocuscapture - July 16, 2009 - 12:59

I would think this should be obvious, but I want to edit a post. I go to 'content' to view all my content, then to edit, then there is no option to change it's content type to another.

Can anyone assist me in this? Perhaps I need to find a module. I have searched and searched.

Once you create a node (post)

Once you create a node (post) you can't really change the type... You can change all posts of that type to a different "name" (like you could change all story posts to be called article posts or entries or submissions or poems -- whatever name you like pretty much) but there's really no way to change an individual story into a page or anything. Are you a recovering wordpress user? :) If so, welcome to Drupal! It's got a bit of a learning curve but it's worth it by far.

ahh...so im out of luck. I

ahh...so im out of luck. I guess it's easy to copy and paste. lol. I never was a big wordpress fan. Although I plan to use it for my personal website. Or I may do everything with no cms for that. I am recovering joomla user. And i have very little nice things to say about joomla.

LOL,
thanks for the response.

Didn't know that existed. Haven't looked at the code yet but I assume it probably does some sort of SQL query that changes the names...? Not sure why I didn't think of that in the first place... (duh).
