Looking to help...

eknowlton - July 17, 2009 - 22:42

Hey

I've been programming with PHP and MySQL for 5 or 6 years now, and I used drupal a little bit about 2 years ago and recently started a full time developing a online print fulfillment ecommerce site for a local business and i'm using a drupal and ubercart for the base. With alot of custom modules that I didn't expect to have to use.

Its looking good and I've learned alot about drupal over the last 6 months. So I would really like to get more involved with drupal and currently don't have any ideas for a new module or anything I can use to get my hands dirty, so i'm looking around for something to get more involved.

Maybe a module that someone doesn't have time to develop anymore, or just needs help? Ha.

Thanks!

Hi It would be great if you

Hi

It would be great if you can help out here with the Drubb project:

Timeline Module

I can imagine the timeline module being useful in the setup you describe above

However, even if it isn't, it's an awesome module and needs help for 6, thus certainly 7.

The project page used to implicitly state the maintainer was not going to be able to update it, and he was looking for someone else.

There are a ton of ways to get involved and we're always short of help. Here's a few ideas:

1) Help out in the issue queues of the modules you are most familiar with. Write patches if you want or just help with the support requests.

2) Dive into the documentation. There's an endless amount of work to do there.

3) Help out with core. There's a bunch of issues that are tagged for novice, which doesn't mean novice programmer, necessarily, but just someone new to working on core. I'll hunt down a link if no one beats me to it.

Welcome aboard! :)

Michelle

I'm looking for folks to help me out by posting in my Coulee Region forums. You don't need to live in the area; there's plenty of general forums. But please, no Drupal support questions. :)
