I had a workflow system built for me 3 years ago or so in drupal-5 and it is outdated. Since then I have learnt a bit of drupal and was wondering if it is possible to do what I need with the current tools and very little coding.

Needs:
1. Consultant Login Area. Standard Login
2. Create New Client. Input form capturing client details
3. Assign this client to a certain category which has it's own input page (each input page to be linked to the new clients profile) and its own workflow.
4. Viewing the current client list along with category type information and workflow status and comments.

Installation:
Drupal-6.13
Modules: Workflow, CCK, Views, Content Profile

Any suggestions how to best go about doing this ?

Those modules should be a good start for you. Since this request is over 2 years old, I'm going to assume a solution was found or you've moved on. If not, please get updated to the latest versions of all modules and make a request for it against Drupal 7 and I'll be glad to take a look at it.
