Hi,

I have been making some changes on my block admin page and for some reason it is not saving the changes, very frustrating. For instance, if I move the block from content middle to footer it will allow me to change it but it will not be changed when I go back to the block admin page and the changes will not have taken place on the website. Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks

Do you have any custom PHP in any of your block visibility settings? If so make sure your not getting any PHP errors or warnings from the cod inside those blocks. It fixed a very similair issue I had as well.

Thank you. I am noobie, how would I go about checking my block visibility settings?

I think that answers the question. When you hit the "Configure" link on a block inside the block administrative pages, you can scroll to the bottom of the form and there will be a Visibility settings section. You can choose to have the block show up on specific pages, you optionally add PHP code for custom stuff. I'm guessing that you've not done this.

After re-reading your post, I'm going to ask something completely basic, but I've seen it overlooked before. When you change the blocks location, are you saving out the page? Meaning, you change a block that is in the Disabled section to be in the Left Sidebar region. The block moves to that location, but did you then go to the bottom of the block administrative page and save the page? Blocks will not actually take effect until you save the changes.

I had the same issue for ages and it turned out that I had too many blocks, even though some were disabled. Once I deleted a few blocks I was able to make changes again.

That worked!! Thanks

There is no custom PHP code or anything, and I only have 2 blocks that aren't created by modules that I have installed (and they're very simple blocks - a header and footer with text links in them). I don't know what to do -- I don't have the option to delete any of the blocks except these two critical ones...
Also, it's the block html content itself that won't be saved when I try to make changes.
Help?
Thank you,
Kelly
