I currently use Aweber. On registering on my site, a new user will get sent 2 emails (if they haven't unchecked the "subscribe to newsletter" button).

One is the verify your email address from the drupal install and the other is from aweber. In most cases, people will verify their account but not to aweber.

Two emails seems pointless to me.

I would be interested in switching and using the single opt-in that CM offers if once a user verifies their email address with the drupal install, it then sends the registration to Campaign Monitor. This would effectively then be a confirmed opt in.

Don't worry. We built our own custom module to do this. Cheers.

I know you said don't worry, but just for other people's information, this module actually requires single opt in or else it can't check to make sure a subscriber is subscribed. If I get requests for allowing double-opt in, I will look into a better way of doing it.
