i want to change date format to other, same as jalali date, how can i do it?

I don't even know what a jalali date is, but a simple google search tells me that:

a) there's an effort to create a specific module, but no releases yet,

b) code has been submitted to the date module, but has not been committed.

and

c) this module supports jalali dates, but has not been updated to D6.
