I habe now read about 100 threads on this issue, and have neither seen a clear answer from the module developers of menu or taxonomy menu nor a fix or patch that I understand and which makes sense (only for primary links, this is not the case here)

So, the issue is clear:
The last version of Taxonomy Menu was published by the end of May. If I have a node open with the path node/xy, the taxonomy terms linked in the menu which are connected to the node in the menu made by TaxMenu are not active.

For Menu Trails or Context my menu structure is to big and open to use them per content type or so. Primary Term to Active Menu Item does for some reason not work an it is not free of bugs.

So my questions to the developers:

  • Is this issue a problem of the menu module, the taxonomy module or has another core module be fixed?
  • Is anybody working on that issue? Or do I have to wait until Drupal7 / TM3 coming up for such a minor problem?
  • Is there any patch more useful than this: http://drupal.org/node/317753?

For me this is a classical point why I start to dislike drupal, since it is a module patchwork and in this quite important modules like taxonomy menu are the breakpoints. I actually use more than ten (!) modules on my menu management, although I donnot have an all to complex site structure. Me as a only beginner in coding am wasting days on minor problems like this.

I am sorry if I open a panel for this issue where there already others discussed this. But I would like to have a clear answer on these questions before I go into reviewing rather problematic php patches one after the other.

I am missing a place for conclusions if this problem is solved in an a way or not. I would suggest a more wiki based problem discussion inside drupal.org. I am really sick of searching for nights in many different places for solving minor problems.

Forum: Sending user to Project Issues - 1

If you have a problem or question about a specific module, the recommended procedure is for you to first search that specific project's 'Issues' for the answer.

If that does not help, create an issue in the project's issue queue.

Note that if you 'Create a new issue', on that form you can always simply choose the 'Category' option: "Support request"

- The # project 'Home' page is at
http://drupal.org/project/#
- The # project 'issues' page is at

Forum: Sending user to Project Issues - 2 : "To repeat..."

I feel strongly that at this forum you are not getting the exposure to you questions that you need.

I again recommend that you head to the module's issue page and search for your answer.

If you can not find the answer, then "Create a new comment" and specify 'Category' as "Support request".

Rest assured that the first place any module's developers go is their 'issue que' and he/she/they will see your question; and they are the most qualified to answer your questions.

As for a long but fully detailed discourse on what to do before posting; and how to post a support request in a project's issue que, (again) see
