Hi there!

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the blocks appear! I have the module installed and enabled, I have the blocks set to be viewed in the left nav area, but nothing shows up.

I have this issue in box 6.x-1.0 and 6.x-1.x-dev. I went through the same steps in both to double check.

I created a menu, but there is an area that says "Vocab Used In" that is blank. I'm assuming this is my problem-- that I need to set the "vocab used in" to get the filter to work, but I don't know where I am supposed to set this!

I have checked in the different tabs associated with Taxonomy Filter, and I checked in Views as well,thinking that maybe there was an added block view that I had to customize, but no dice.

I think the issue here is probably as simple as unclear documentation, and I would love to help write a clearer guide to using this as I have seen a couple other people in the forums with the same issue, but I don't know how to get it working to do that! Any help?

The filter blocks appear when you are viewing a taxonomy listing (e.g. taxonomy/term/%tids/%depth!feed) which could potentially be "filtered." See the Advanced Settings page (admin/settings/taxonomy_filter/advanced). The blocks do not just appear when you are viewing a node for example.

Try this and let me know.

I discovered two things-- if I put them in a central content column, they do show up. However, the reason I couldn't assign a vocabulary to a filter menu was that when I made my first filter menu, I based it off "base" and that one never appeared in the dropdowns on the mapping page.

So I couldn't select anything but "none" and "same" for my vocabulary dropdowns. I created a filter menu that uses "cloud" and that works fine, as does "context." But new menus based off of "base" won't display on the mapping page.

See #458618: Knocks out right sidebar in theme which fixes the display issue you refer to.

Regarding the "base" menu not showing in the list (when it is the only one), can you reproduce this?

No! It seems to be working fine now. I even deleted all the menus I've made since and tested it as the only menu. I'm not sure what the deal is; maybe it was on my database's end or something.
