I wish there would be an option to disable posting to twitter if there is one or more (in twitter-module-admin backend chosen) terms are appended.

Seconded. It would be great for sites with a large taxonomy tree to only post to Twitter if certain taxonomies are selected.

you could use the rules (action) implementation for that

I agree with derhasi, using the Rules module with the Post to Twitter action is a possible solution.
