Odd behavior for me: Can't seem to get this to work for any roles. If I change line 449 to "return TRUE;" clicks by User 1 get counted -- so the module does indeed seem to work. But clicks from all other roles aren't counted -- scripts do show up in the source though. Any pointer in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Rebuilding permissions fixed it for me.
