This may be way off..
I have been building a new site with 4.7 and cck...
Seeing as how there is no file field module yet for cck... and disknode seems pretty complete and robust...
Could disknode be integrated as the file field for CCK?

Never heard about CCK, but I'll take a look into it.
According to the CCK status page a "file field" is planned for phase 1 of the module.

Unfortunately most of the published information about CCK is vastly out of date, and the best source of information about it is the code.

At this time the file handling stuff for CCK is not done; there are people talking about it, but it hasn't happened yet.
