hello
I want to upload files onto my system, but I don't know how to upload them. is there an address that I type in my address bar on my browser? or do i have to have specialist software? ive been trying this for over 10 hrs and am getting really really frustrated...

If you have enabled the upload module, you can upload files as attachments to a node...

Maybe something like Web File Manager is what you're looking for.

It sounds like you are trying to upload Drupal, and Drupal modules.

This is a problem you should take up with your hosting provider. Your hosting provider may provide tools, or you may need to use a file-transfer program.

You can use Drupal to upload data files (images, etc.) but you can not use Drupal to upload Drupal modules or templates. That would create a serious security weakness.

all i am trying to do is install themes and modules
surely i can do this in some way or another?
i am an administrator, but am very very new, and from reading the drupal docs, i need to go to the file directory
help!

Is the site hosted by a provider, and if so which one? Do they allow ftp access? If so, you want FileZilla (http://filezilla-project.org/) or something similar to upload your files.
