After upgrading to 6.x, pages with a viewfield lack edit links

Description

I had Viewfields working in D5, so naturally I wanted to use them in D6 as well. But now, after upgrading, any page with a viewfield on it has become uneditable. Even after I deduce the node number and edit manually using the node/#/edit URL (which does show the viewfield configuration for those views I've migrated), I can't get the row of tabs with view, edit, tracking, etc. I see them on all other pages except the ones with a viewfield, leading me to believe that this is the issue. This problem occurs even when I'm logged in as Admin.

If all else fails, I can switch to using the Insert View module, but it would mean a fair amount of page editing.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with viewfield after all, so I'm closing this. (Among other things, I found that using a different theme brought the tabs back.)
