Could anyone with experience of listhandler please clarify how you handle new accounts created by listhandler?

I set up a Mailman mailing list long ago. Now that I come to create a Drupal site and link it to the mailing list, every time an old punter posts a message, an account is created for them in Drupal, where they have had no account up to now.

OK, that's fine.

However, when I come to tell the punters about the exciting NEW website where all the posts can be seen, how do they log on to the web site? Listhandler never gave them a password so they can't get in, even though Drupal knows about their name and email address....... Ouph......

Some of my punters will panic, some will give up. Either way, I can see myself involved in lots of individual explanations.......

How have other people got round this?

Old question.. I suppose you found the answer by yourself since then.. but for everybody else : there is a "Request new password" feature that you can use, at /user/password.
